Stuff the Bus for Helping Hands Food Bank and the Backpack for Kids Program

This Saturday at the Sherwood Albertsons
8am – 5:30pm

SHS has teamed up with the Sherwood Albertsons to host a “Stuff the Bus” event this Saturday, February 18th, from 8am – 5:30pm. The idea is simple – we want to FILL A SCHOOL BUS with food and toiletry items for our local food bank, Helping Hands. Our goal is to support Helping Hands’ Backpack for Kids program, a program that provides pre-packaged food to 100+ Sherwood children in need every single weekend 

The bus will be parked in the Albertsons lot and we can provide tax receipts if necessary.   Albertsons will even be placing items from our “Backpack for Kids” wish list on sale!

Backpack for Kids Wish List

Anything donated will help, but we are hoping specifically to bring in items for the Backpack for Kids program.  The wish list includes:

• Breakfast items: cereal (especially single serving size), Pop Tarts, Instant oatmeal, pancake mix and syrup
• Lunch/Dinner items: soup, chili, Spaghettios, Tuna, mini packs of peanut butter, mini packs of jelly, mac & cheese, Cup of Noodles, Tuna Helper, Top Ramen
• Snack items: real fruit juice, fruit cups, pudding cups, fruit cups, raisins, granola bars, goldfish crackers, trail mix, fruit snacks
• Toiletries: especially bars of soap and toothpaste
